This week was our final shooting day, we filmed in The Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, London. This location was by far the best one we have shot at, not just for the technical aspects of filming but for the aesthetics too. We were able to film in The Drawing Room in the hotel.
Again in this location we had great sound, there were almost no issues with sound other than a couple of times when the waiting staff had to walk through the room. Due to the size of the room we were able to get wide shots to also get the scenery in the shots as well as the pianist playing. I was able to use a Canon 50mm (f/1.8) lens for every shot as I was able to take the camera back very far from the subject. This allowed me to get some really great shots.

Everything that I have gained from this experience is invaluable. It has helped me develop myself as a thoughtful filmmaker, considering the best shots to get and how to get them when working with a 2/3 camera set up. I have also learned how to deal with sound issues and how sometimes this is out of your control.
This was also my first time working with a real world client, with no involvement with university or college etc. I now have a better concept of how to find and communicate with a client and be able to make them something they are happy with and can use for what they need it for.
The next stage of this project is the editing, I will look through all of the footage and create a 10 minute video from all of the footage we have filmed over the past few weeks. I am looking forward to creating the final piece and also hopefully being able to work with the pianist again on other projects.
