Pianist Showreel - Shooting Day 2

This week I continued filming with the pianist I've been working with on her showreel. This shooting day we were in a much better location, we filmed at a Schott Music venue in Central London. The venue was set up like a music studio, the rooms were sound proofed so we had no issues with disruptive sounds as we did when we filmed in the restaurant last week.

The piano was also much more aesthetically pleasing so we had the opportunity to get more interesting and generally better looking shots.

Me and the other camera operator who I am working alongside were able to work together to discuss a different range of shots, such a close ups of the hands and feet, medium and long shots. The pianist also had an idea of shots she wanted to get from previous pianist showreels she has looked at.

This shooting day went much smoother than our first as we didn't have to deal with sound issues or a short time frame in which to shoot. The experience was really enriching for all of us and we are all learning new techniques and working on new ideas for the video.
